Our mission
This site exists to give homeowners clear, research-backed answers without the upselling common on exterminator-run sites or the vagueness of content farms. Our goal is always to help you understand why a pest behaves the way it does, so the solution you choose actually works long-term. Where evidence is thin, we say so instead of overstating.

How we work
Checked against expert sources
Methods and safety advice are checked against university extension services, the EPA, the CDC and product labels, and we link the sources we used.
Safety before speed
We lead with the least toxic method that works, flag label precautions, and say plainly when a job needs a licensed professional.
Independent
We are not a pest control company and sell no treatments. Manufacturers cannot pay to be included, and product links never decide a ranking.
Dated and updated
Every guide shows when it was last updated. Products change formula and rules change, so we revisit guides and fix anything readers report.
How we research
Every guide is built from primary sources, not rehashed from other pest blogs. Our research follows one standard:
University extension services
Land-grant programs such as Nebraska, Kansas State, UC IPM, Purdue and Clemson test pest methods regionally. Their guides anchor our how-tos.
EPA and CDC guidance
EPA pesticide labels and bed bug IPM pages plus CDC disease information set our safety lines on chemicals, heat treatment and wildlife risks.
Product labels first
Recommended products are judged on active ingredients, EPA registration and label directions. Retail claims count for nothing until the label backs them.
How this site is funded
We are not a pest control company and take no money from manufacturers or exterminators. Product links on this site currently carry no commission tags, so nothing you click earns us anything. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the affiliate disclosure page first, and it will never decide a ranking. Reader questions sent through the contact form frequently become new guides.
